The Dingle is at the heart of the Quarry Park and is the result years ago of a transformation from a disused 1700’s quarry into a beautiful horticultural setting. The sunken gardens surround the deepest water filled section and are filled with lawns, colourful flowerbeds and shrubs. A quiet, tranquil setting interspersed with the sounds of aquatic wildlife is definitely worth a visit. For many years the pride and joy of Parks Superintendant Percy Thrower and the centre of the world renowned annual ‘Shrewsbury Flower Show’. It attracts keen gardeners and visitors to take in the surroundings.
